Mazda’s High Beam Control makes night driving easier by automatically changing headlights when needed. Lets see how to enable or disable auto high beam on Mazda.
How High Beam Control works on Mazda
When enabled, the system will detect vehicles ahead using a windscreen mounted camera, and automatically switch between high and low beam in different scenarios.
When you approach a vehicle from behind, the system will detect the other vehicles tail lamps and switch to low beam. Once you pass the vehicle, the system will automatically switch back to high beam.
When you approach an oncoming vehicle, the system will detect the other vehicles headlights and switch to low beam. When the other vehicle is no longer in the detection zone, the system will automatically switch back to high beam. The high beam control will also detect if you enter a well-lit area and switch the headlights to low beam.
Turn on/off auto high beam
- To enable or disable auto high beam, from the home screen go to Settings.
- Select the Vehicle tab.
- Then select Lighting.
- Then scroll down to High Beam Control.
- Select the box next to High Beam Control to enable the feature, de-select the box to disable it.
- If you want to enable the feature, rotate the lever on the left side of your steering wheel to AUTO position. A light with headlamp icon (A) will illuminate in your vehicle’s instrument cluster.
