This is one of the more popular questions regarding the 3rd generation Ford Escape (2013-2019 models). You may have opened the hood of the car but was surprised to see no visible 12 volt battery, so where is the battery located?
There are many reasons for finding the battery, it may be because you left the lights on and the battery is exhausted, and you need to boost it.
The battery in located under a cover. You’ll need a little bit of fiddling before you find it.
You’ll notice arrows under each side of the cover, pull on those arrows to remove the battery cover.
There’s the battery. In effort to maintain cabin space on the inside of the Escape, they’ve positioned the battery under the cowl panel. So, if you ever need to remove the battery completely, the cowl panel itself would have to be removed.
But if all you want to do is jump start it with a booster box or jumper cables, you would connect the positive to the red cable, and negative side to the black cable.
