So I open the hood and see this cloudy thing, what could it be?

Notice around the bottom of the threads that you can actually see water on the lip where you add oil. And what I can see of the inside the engine looks like a oil change or two may have been missed. I am assuming this by the burnt oil inside the fill port. I may be wrong as I have little hands on experience with this engine. Adding your year make and model would allow me Google into your engine to see any really common issues.

In the title I put 2010 Chevy Cobalt I4, its the 2.2L sedan. I just changed the oil, so hopefully I see some changes. I wouldn't be surprised if it missed a couple oil changes. Thanks for the info

Haha I totally missed your title. My bad. How long do you run your oil changes?

Truth be told, I have no idea. No sticker was left on the inside of the window, so it could have been a long time since. I work for a small dealership and using this forum helps out when I need to brainstorm ideas as to what may be going on. Since the company left the vehicle on the lot for a while it could've been months since its last change. Filter looked real nasty and the oil looked like my toilet bowl after a meal at taco bell. But she's running good now, lol

Yeah. It's been short tripped and not changed. I would change again withing a few thousands miles. If you continue to short trip I would change at 3k miles or less.

Check the dipstick. If it looks fine, then it's not a head gasket issue. This is normal condensation.
