I have a 2008 chrysler sebring. Check engine light came on and code read cylinder 3 miss fire. I changed coil and spark plug cleared code and it came back on with same reading. It idles rough when first started but runs fine down the road. What could be causing this issue?

It could be due to blown head gasket, coolant may be leaking into the combustion chamber. Observe the level of coolant in your vehicle, if the level drops and you have to top up the coolant after every few hundred miles, it indicates a blown head gasket. I actually helped diagnose a similar issue with a vehicle last week. The vehicle was consuming coolant, but the engine was running fine and there was no white smoke from tailpipe. Check engine light would turn on when first started, then it goes away. It was misfiring on cylinder 4. It turned out to be blown head gasket. After replacing the head gasket, the issue was resolved.

Inspect condition of the spark plug
What was the condition of the spark plug in cylinder 3? Its condition can help you diagnose the issue.
