Autolock is a locking feature on Ford F-150 that automatically locks your vehicle doors when you start driving.

The method mentioned here is for 14th generation of F-150. You can view the method for 13th gen in this article.
Switching Autolock On and Off
Autolock feature on F-150 can be enabled or disabled via the infotainment system (center touchscreen).
- Touch Settings on the touchscreen.
- Touch Vehicle.
- Touch Locks.
- Switch Autolock on or off.

Autolock Requirements
Autolock locks all the doors on Ford F-150 when all of the following occur:
- All doors are closed.
- The ignition is on.
- Your vehicle reaches a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h).
I can’t find Autolock on/off option in Locks settings! It only shows Auto unlocks.
This is strange, because if you go to page 85 of user manual for 2021 F-150, it mentions that you can switch off Autolock from vehicle settings. Why would they print this in manual and then not allow you to disable it?
It confused me at first as well. If its on, auto unlock is enabled. If its not on then it will stay locked.
I read your articles on turning the auto door lock feature off for both the 13th and 14th generation Ford F150s. My 2020 F-150 that was made late in the model year must be a 13.5 generation because none of the processes works on my truck.
My truck does not respond with any horn chirps when I try the sequence of the lock/unlock buttons and does not turn off the auto lock after all steps are completed.
The instrument cluster menu (per the 13th generation fix) only allows me to turn the auto “unlock” feature on or off. The auto “lock” feature is not listed in the menu.
Per the 14th generation fix – My trucks infotainment system does not have a “Locks” selection under “Settings/Vehicle”
I am truly hoping you have another solution to this problem. It is very frustrating getting out of my truck when running to quickly load/unload something from the back and find the tailgate lock when I get there.
If the truck is turned off, the auto unlock does unlock the tailgate but when working quickly you seldom turn off the truck.
Please help!
The option to disable auto lock was removed on 13th gen F-150 in 2018. For 2021 14th generation, it is still unclear which trucks have option to disable auto lock, since the method to disable auto locks is mentioned in the user manual of 14th gen, on page 85 – but some people can’t find this option on their trucks.
Thanks for the info. Unfortunately it’s not what I hoped for.
Do you know who I can contact at ford to complain about this? I talked to my dealer and they weren’t very helpful.
May not do any good to complain, but if we don’t, it may not get change for the future. Maybe an upgrade to the programming on the infotainment system is possible for those of us that got screwed by the change.
My new 2020 is the same. Extraordinarily aggravating. I’m going to obtain a USB OBDII adaptor, download FORSCAN and reprogram it myself.
I have the same problem on my 2020 ford f150
