I have a Suzuki Grand Vitara II (Escudo in US) 1.9 DDiS (turbo diesel). It's a Renault F9Q engine found in Lagunas, minivans and vans. Running 5W30 synthetic oil.

Internet says it's really sensitive to oil neglect, and as I invested a lot in offroad mods and getting the car tip top I want the engine to last.

Got it at 75k miles where previous owner was doing oil every 10k, since then I have been doing oil every 6k miles (I'm european so it's easier for me to do it every 10k km). Every change includes oil and air filter and engine flush.

It that often enough? What are your opinions on engine flush? What can I do avoid premature piston through the block?

10k is the longest I would go on any kind of oil. I would recommend 7,500 or 5,000 changes. Just because the oil can go that doesn't mean that it should. 10k isn't bad or anything, but if you wanna take care of it and make it last 7500 to 5000. I think what your doing is just fine.

Modern cars dont need to be flushed if you change the oil and filter regularly. I would do the oil and filter depending on the interval suggested in the owners manual of your car. Maybe even a bit sooner but that's just me.

Yeah owners manual. Car is 2013 so it's one of those "long life" things every 20k. I'm planning to run this car past the warranty mileage so it took me a while to find one that wasn't following this interval.
