How is your experience regarding marten damage with the G30 / G31?

A few days ago I had a puddle under my M550d G30, which was due to a severe cooling water loss due to marten bites in three cooling water hoses. The workshop changed three cooling water hoses yesterday, which fixed the problem.

An engine wash was carried out and everything was treated with DFNT marten repellent spray.

This morning, however, I had a puddle under my car again! A marten has let off steam both in the car and in the engine compartment. When the engine is warm, the car loses cooling water again.

Yesterday I drove 100km without any problems and after parking I had some loss of coolant, so I am again expecting marten damage.

Have you already struggled with similar problems and how have you been able to solve this problem sustainably?

I look forward to numerous suggestions.

I also had marten damage on my A6 in March. The damage amounted to almost $1000. I live right on the edge of a landscape conservation area. Martens are at home with us. There was always a marten in my wife's car. I have installed a marten defense system with ultrasound and power plates in both vehicles. Since then it has been quiet and the engine compartment is free of martens. I installed the systems myself. Installation is not difficult. I can only recommend. The provider also has good test results and has installation recommendations for common models.

An acquaintance swears by a grille under the car. No problems since then.

As an immediate measure, a used hand brush or broom, placed under the car in the area of the engine compartment, always helped me reliably ...

I did extensive research today and decided that I would get the marten scare "Mardersicher Mobil MS12V (marten scare with ultrasound + high voltage)" and install it myself. Without a lifting platform, however, you have no chance of effectively placing the high-voltage sensors.

Grid under the car is definitely too annoying in the long run, but certainly a good interim solution.
