I drive a G31 530d xDrive Touring.

As soon as I fold down the rear seat, a yellow Check Control message appears in the display that the rear seat  is not locked. The display remains permanently. In the car dealership (BMW dealer) it says: "This is probably normal ..."

As soon as I go to the status of the vehicle, the message is displayed as a fault. Does anyone have the same or a similar problem? Respectively, is this also the case with your station wagon?

Sometimes the car is actually "hyperactive" and reports things that you don't want to get reported. The intentionally folded back seat is part of it - what nonsense to generate a message from it.

Just as annoying: with child seat I switched off the passenger airbag. There is always a warning symbol.

If an additional useful warning message should really come, you will no longer notice it, because the indicator light is always active anyway.

Just as annoying: the indication that not all three belts are fastened at the back is displayed, even if no one is sitting there.

I think the permanent exclamation mark when the back seat is turned down is dangerous. If you change anything on the vehicle that causes something like that, you will probably lose the ABE, but if BMW defines it as "probably normal" it will of course work.

I also get rear seat not locked error message when seat folded but only on drivers side, not passenger side. Dealer claiming that is normal but doesn’t make sense and is frustrating having the error message when drivers side back seat folded. Car is Alpina B5 G31 tourer - 2021 so covered by 3 year warranty. Any suggestions appreciated
