UK imposing 35 percent cap on use of Huawei equipment

The UK has said, the Chinese company Huawei will only have a limited roll in its 5G network rollout. Its imposing a 35 percent market share cap on the use of Huawei equipment, a decision that could hurt British businesses.

British telecom has said that enforcing this limited would cost 500 million pounds over the next five years.


The cap is due to come into force in 2023, which is earlier than predicted.

The companies such as BT are having to scramble to replace existing Huawei equipment with products from other suppliers.
