How to use Adaptive Cruise Control on Toyota Prius V

The available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control system, detects slower traffic ahead and then slows the Prius V as you get close to match the speed and maintain a preset distance.

You can control the dynamic radar system the same way you do standard cruise control with one addition.

  1. To adjust the preset distance your Prius V will maintain, push the distance button on the steering wheel.
  2. You have three choices short, medium, and long.
  3. If you’d rather use conventional cruise control, push the control stock toward the front of the car and the radar-based features will be suspended.
  4. And by the way, if you come up on traffic too quickly for the system to react, like when someone driving too slow cuts in front of you, the display will flash and the tone will warn you to help out by using the brakes to slow down quickly.
