Your BMW X5 can be equipped with panoramic sunroof which allows for natural light and fresh air to get inside the vehicle. This guide shows you how to enable auto closing of sunroof.
If your BMW has been parked for an extended period of time with the glass roof open or if it starts to rain, the sunroof automatically moves to the raised position.
This function can be activated by going to “CAR” in the infotainment center display, then “Settings”, then scroll the bottom menu and select “Doors/Vehicle access”. Scroll down and check the box “Automatic roof closing”.
Operating roof from outside the vehicle
In order to open the glass roof from outside the vehicle, press and hold the unlock button on the key fob. The vehicle windows along with panoramic sunroof open until the button is released.
To close the windows and sunroof together, press and hold the unlock button on the key fob. If the vehicle is equipped with Comfort Access feature, then you can just hold the smart key to the door handle.
