Automatic transmission partially defective after installing rear view camera?

I have a Kia Carens 2.0 with automatic transmission.

To install a rear view camera, I followed the procedure for installation correctly ... so far so good ... And now ??? the automatic transmission spins ... lever pushed to D to drive forward ... nothing moves. After that on N ... no movement. then on R ... and lo and behold ... it drives ... backwards.

Neither the cover of the automatic system nor any other cover than the one required was removed.

So now my question.

What have I done wrong? Could it be that some fuse has blown when the camera is installed? I don't know how to help myself anymore. How can I repair the damage so that the car runs again?

Did you disconnect the vehicle battery when installing the camera?

The gearbox may only have to be re-taught. You will probably need an appropriate reader for this.

If you're unlucky, the control unit for the gearbox is over. Or has only one broken line. Maybe this is related to the installation of the camera. But that's all just speculation.

Have you completely disconnected the camera again? Is the error still there after that?

One more thing:

What type of camera did you install?

There are some with their own screen, or which are connected to the on-board monitor.

Which with a cable harness that has to be laid from the back to the front, or wireless.

What model did you use?

Have never heard that after disconnecting the battery, you have to relearn the transmission.

Doesn't have to be for sure. Was just a list of possibilities.

The reason behind this was rather a possible overload / short circuit for the control unit(s), if the battery was not disconnected.
