after 10 years (I suspect it's still the first one) my battery dies. When I was looking for a replacement battery, I started to skid a little. Although it doesn't say so, I assume it's an AGM battery. But I can't find a battery with a capacity of 90 Ah that delivers a cold test current of 900 A. Not even at 95 Ah.

This cold test current is only available at 105 Ah, then even up to 950 A. Since I can only register a new battery of the same type and capacity with my current equipment (Android phone with Deep OBD), I don't necessarily want to install a battery that I have to go to the workshop to register / code.

Hence my questions:

What kind of replacement batteries have you installed?
With what experience / recommendation?
How do 50 A or 100 A less cold test current become noticeable?
Thank you for your answers.

You have an AGM. Buy a 90s, install, re-register and it is good. If a 105 is not bigger in size, you can install it in the same way. You don't have to change the "Ah" by coding.

It is only important that you tell the car by registering that a new one is in it. It is still loaded as normal.

Even if you didn't register, it wouldn't have a negative impact on the cargo. Only then your car could wrongly turn off the juice of the navigation system at night, you would have to reset the time, for example.

I would never buy battery again via the Internet, only in a specialty store. I already have the 2nd Varta battery from the Internet, after 6 months it always goes over the Jordan. Excuse from seller: wear.

Since I bought a new battery in the local shop, it has been working well for years. The Internet only offers cheap garbage for batteries, which is constantly broken.

in no way corresponds to my experience.

I have already purchased some Exide batteries online and installed them in various BMWs. The goods were always fresh from delivery and the measured values of the batteries were always very good before installation and later in operation. Hence a clear recommendation from me. In terms of long-term durability, there were no differences compared to original BMW equipment. For these reasons, however, I cannot say anything about the handling of complaints, since these have not yet occurred.

By the way: My vehicles are exposed to temperatures of -25 ° C and lower in winter. The only battery to date that reached its limits was the original equipment manufacturer AGM battery in the fifth year of operation. The Exide-AGM then installed worked perfectly for 6 years until the vehicle was sold.

On the opening topic:

An AGM battery is installed in the vehicle. This can be exchanged without hesitation for a commercially available 95 AH AGM battery with 850 A cold start current. Then you only need to register the battery replacement, a change in the coding is not necessary. I have had very good experiences with Exide.
