How do I get the BMW X5 and the engine light to stay off?

I want to know why that code is acting up when the car drives like a dream?? I’m at a loss. Changed thermostat & reservoir tank that was leaking. And light still on

The check engine light can mean a lot of things. Hook up a scanner and see what codes are triggering the light. Only then you can diagnose the issue.
