Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and see if it resolves your issue.

If the buttons still doesn't work, it could be due to a bad clockspring. The clockspring, also known as a spiral cable or coil, is located within the steering column. It enables electrical connections to remain intact while the steering wheel turns, allowing for communication between the buttons on the steering wheel and the vehicle's systems.

The most obvious sign of a bad clockspring is the failure of steering wheel controls to respond. Since the clockspring is also responsible for the airbag system's electrical connection, a faulty clockspring can trigger the airbag warning light on the dashboard.
