What causes hard start on auto start/stop - Ford Expedition

My 2018 Expedition will jerk when restarting after an auto start/stop.  Obviously I can avoid this by hitting the button to turn off auto start/stop...but I would rather get the problem fixed.  Initially the auto start felt like a throb of power, now the whole vehicle jerks as it slams on.  It has happened several times at drive through windows and the employees think we've been rear-ended while at the window.

This one will be tricky to diagnose. Just get an auto start stop eliminator. It costs less than a 100 bucks and is very easy to install. Your battery will last longer, and the driving experience will be much better. Also, less wear and tear on other parts as well, like starter.
