We have a 1997 BMW E39 520i. The vehicle has poor throttle response and jerks between 2000 and 4000 revs when accelerating. We recently changed the crankcase ventilation because a humming was heard, the humming is no longer there. What could be the cause? Maybe the crankshaft sensor?

The vibrations can be due to the fact that a cylinder does not ignite and that an ignition coil is defective.
