The smell of air conditioning is the last warning signal. It is usually too late to get rid of the possible fungal attack with simple means. So that you don’t get that far in the future, we will give you the best tips on how to use the air conditioning system correctly.

Temperature

Only switch on the air conditioning system when it is really needed. If you do this frequently, the moisture in the system increases and creates the basis for fungi and bacteria.

Coolant

You must check the coolant in your system at least once a year and replace it if necessary. Check the coolant level at shorter, regular intervals. The cabin filter should be replaced and replaced at the annual check.

Switching off

Switch off the air conditioning at least five minutes before the end of the journey. The damp air in the system is then dried by the airstream. It is even better if you turn up the heating a little and set the ventilation to the highest level. This means that moisture in the system has no chance.

Winter

To ensure that the coolant in the system does not rot during the cold season, switch on the air conditioning system occasionally for a short time even in winter. This will prevent damage and an unpleasant smell in spring.

Tip: For your own health, do not put the jets directly on your face. The inside temperature may only be slightly below the outside temperature.
