Ford F-150 does have the option to display digital speedometer, but its not visible as default on the instrument cluster. Its tucked away in the submenu which we will show you how to access in this guide.

Note: This method works for 13th generation F-150s assembled between 2015 to 2020. The new 2021 model displays digital speedometer by default.

  1. To access the digital speedometer, cycle through the tabs on the instrument cluster screen using arrow keys on your steering wheel and go to Truck Info tab.
  2. Then scroll down and select Digital Speedometer in the submenu.

This will display the digital speedometer and it will remain active until you restart the vehicle.

If you want to display km/h instead of mph, then press the OK button on the steering wheels to toggle between them.

12th Generation F-150

The twelfth generation of Ford F-150 vehicles built between 2009 to 2014 does not officially feature a digital speedometer, but there is a workaround. Its not very convenient, the displayed text is too small and it may not be available on all trims.

  1. With the vehicle switched off, press and hold OK button on your steering wheel.
  2. Start the engine while holding the OK button.
  3. The instrument cluster display will enter into Engineering Test Mode.
  4. Let go of the OK button.
  5. It will do multiple tests starting from Gauge Test. Press OK to continue.
  6. Keep pressing the OK button to cycle through the info tabs until you reach Vehicle Speed. You may have to go through a lot of tabs until you see digital speedometer.
