Replace the water pump and now it won't crank

Question

I just recently replaced the water pump on a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta the timing belt look good so I put it back together like it was now since I've got it all back together it won't crank. Check the fuses gas and battery still won't crank

Does the starter make clicking noise when you try to start, or is it completely dead? Do a voltage drop test at the battery to check if the starter is trying to crank the engine on not. See this video:
