So I’ve been trying to figure out the cause of an excessive flow P0402 code on my ‘02 ranger 4.0 and in the process discovered several fl.oz of fuel inside of my airbox. I also noticed some fuel pooled up outside the engine, on the left hand bank below the fuel rail. I’m thinking this is now related somehow, because with key on, ignition off I can hear what I imagine is either air or what sounds like fuel flowing through piping (but it could just me actually noticing that sound before with the truck not running). The PCV valve on that same bank from the valve cover was wet along with the MAF sensor looked a bit moist when pulled open the air box.

All of this unfolded after I was trying to diagnose/voltage check the DPFE sensor, couldn’t get the truck started and noticed fuel dripping onto the ground from air box/pooling under the fuel rail.

Don’t think the no start is related because my starter and battery needs to be replaced now (starter solenoid to starter stud contact was loose and then ripped off when I tried to tighten it down)

Basically a whole chain of events and while I wait for the rain to clear so I can get to my truck at work, was hoping for some insight into my air box fuel issue. This truck is definitely NOT carbureted LOL
