The fuse itself is working and has continuity. The port that it inserts to is not working however. I tested this using a fuse tester and the light does not turn on when I touch the fuse port but when touching other ports it does.

The shifter in my 2015 Ford Transit Connect is stuck in the park position, but the transmission itself is in in neutral. The car ignition/starter worked fine when the shifter got stuck, however after a day, the battery died for some reason. I read that the shifter interlock is connected to a few things like the rear brake lights, brake switch and ignition lock. Before the battery died I did confirm that my third rear brake lights were not coming on. I suspected a blown fuse which slightly matches my observation. How does one fix a broken fuse port? Is the entire fuse box faulty?

If your rear brake lights don’t work your brake switch is faulty which doesn’t allow for power to shift interlock switch. Start with small things before jumping to the conclusion you have major electrical issues.
