front wiper arms not returning to default position

Question

my windscreen wiper arms work but when I turn them of they always stop in the upright position , so any ideas how to solve this ? The year is 2003.

Most likely a faulty wiper motor park switch. The park switch in a wiper motor is responsible for making the wiper blades return to their default or "parked" position after wiping. If the switch is faulty, the wiper blades may not return to their correct position.
