If your Ford’s keypad is not working, then it could be due to one or more of the following reasons:

Key fob out of range

Make sure your remote control is within 3 ft (1 m) from the front door handles and the tailgate.

Stationary key fob

Keypad will not work if the remote control / key fob remains stationary for about a minute.

Dead 12v battery

The main 12v vehicle battery has no charge.

Dead key fob battery

The remote control battery has no charge. If the key fob battery is dead, keyless entry keypad will not work.

Radio-frequency interference

There is interference causing issues with the remote control frequencies. The remote control is too close to metal objects or electronic devices, for example keys or a cell phone.

Keypad is in anti-scan mode

The keypad on Ford F-150 goes into an anti-scan mode if you enter a wrong code seven times. The anti-scan mode disables the keypad for one minute and the red light flashes.

Entering code too fast

If you enter the access code too fast on the F-150’s keypad, the unlock function may not work. Slowly re-enter the access code.
