Your vehicle’s cupholders can be used for additional storage by employing the storage tray.
On BMW 3-series sedan, the cup holders are located just in front of the gear selector.
To gain access to the cup holders, simple remove the storage tray above the cup holders and store it inside the glove compartment by sliding it into the net with the top surface facing up. Placing the cover plate in this location will secure it so that it doesn’t rattle when driving – while also ensuring the cover plate won’t be misplaced or lost.
To use the cup holder area for storage, simply place the standard storage tray on top of the cup holder, so it fits snugly. Note that the storage tray should only be used for small objects, such as keys or the key fob.
