Volkswagen with virtual auto show for the first time

Following the cancellation of this year’s International Motor Show in Geneva, the Volkswagen brand booth is now virtually available. Interested parties can now experience all of the brand’s new products around the clock from April 17, 2020 at https://www.volkswagen.de/de/specials/geneva-2020.html. The 360° tour offers an interactive digital experience where users can immerse themselves in the trade fair: they can stroll through the stand, view the vehicles from all sides and also change their color and rim configuration with ease.

“I am pleased that despite the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show, our marketing team has managed to make our booth accessible to all visitors. You can virtually experience the attention to detail with which our team presents this trade fair and our product highlights. It it shows once again that special situations also produce special solutions, ”says Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand through these virtual trade fair visits. “

All vehicles planned for Geneva and the exhibition stand were digitally prepared for the 360 ° experience and convey the feeling of being directly at the exhibition. The focus is on the product innovations of 2020: from the future electric vehicle ID.3 to the new Touareg R with plug-in hybrid technology to the latest generation of the sporty, compact golf icons GTI, GTD and GTE.

The user takes part in a guided tour of the exhibition stand, but can control it individually: Clicking on integrated additional features and operable exhibits with the option of equipping the vehicles in different colors or with different rims makes the exhibition interactive. If you are more interested in a vehicle, you can create a Volkswagen ID on a registration page in order to receive personalized offers in the future.

“Our first digital exhibition stand is only the first addition to our new, sustainable concept for future innovative online experiences,” says Jochen Sengpiehl, Chief Marketing Officer of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand. “Exploiting the possibilities of virtual reality is part of our digitization strategy. It becomes an integral part of our experience marketing, the overall external image of the brand and the interaction with customers and fans. ”

The virtual visit to the Internet is free of charge. The site is available in German and English until April 17, 2020.
