Volkswagen publishes camouflaged photo of the new Nivus crossover

German automaker Volkswagen has published an image of a camouflaged prototype of the new compact Nivus crossover SUV.

The car is being developed by the Brazilian division of the company. The crossover is based on the modular platform MQB-A0, on which the new generation Polo hatchback is based. The length of the vehicle is 3999 mm, and the wheelbase is 2560 mm. The volume of the luggage compartment is 415 liters.


The Volkswagen Nivus will install a digital dashboard, as well as a large touchscreen display for the infotainment system.

In the Brazilian market, the model will be offered with a 128-liter liter gasoline turbo engine. The power unit will be paired with a manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic.

Series production of the new crossover will begin in the second half of this year. The model will appear in the European market in 2021.
