Volkswagen launches “JumpStart” program for reopening of car dealerships in Germany

The Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand has started extensive online training for German dealers to encourage the restart of business.

Around 70 percent of car dealerships are open again. In addition to practical checklists for the implementation of the necessary hygiene measures and new service offers, retailers also receive specific tips for the optimal use of digital tools and ideas for their social media channels. Volkswagen also offers its customers attractive offers.

The aim of all measures is to enable retailers to easily re-enter routine business. Many of the ideas presented come from the dealerships themselves and have emerged in the past few weeks. In clear checklists, videos and audio files, dealers receive answers to the most urgent questions relating to customer support, virtual vehicle presentations, information on test drives, contactless pick-up and delivery service or vehicle handover. In addition, Volkswagen recommends its dealers various disinfection and care products that increase health protection for employees in the dealership and for customers.

“The JumpStart program is our initial spark to boost trade again,” says Holger B. Santel, Head of Sales and Marketing Germany. “Especially in the current situation, the desire for individual mobility is increasing. People appreciate the hygiene in their own vehicle. We have good offers and arguments for actively approaching our customers right now. “

In close coordination with the dealer association, Volkswagen also offers very attractive conditions for leasing and financing to promote sales of new cars and approved used cars. In addition, buyers are protected with free installment insurance.

“If car sales pick up again, we have a good basis for a restart of the entire German economy. But we also need broad-based political impulses, ”says Jürgen Stackmann, Member of the Board responsible for Sales, Marketing and After-Sales at the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand.“ In addition, there are several million vehicles on Germany’s roads that meet the EU4 or older emissions standard. By renewing this stock, we can make a significant contribution to climate protection together. ”
