Volkswagen ID.3 EV gets a price tag of 23,450 euros, hitting showrooms this summer

Confirming that it would respect the announced schedule, the German brand has just lifted the veil on the base price of its new electric compact car.

The compact EV from Volkswagen will not cost more than a Golf! Revealed in its final version last September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the first born of the ID family is officially announced from 23,450 euros on the German market. A tariff which takes into account the new federal premium of 6000 euros granted by the German government and which corresponds to the “basic” version, limited to 330 km of range and to a 45 kWh battery.

In the end, the price of the German compact is relatively close to that of the Peugeot e-208 and the Renault ZOE, the two French starting from 26,000 euros once the government subsidies have been deducted.

Beyond this price disclosure, the German brand silences the rumors related to the delay of the model. Despite the software problems announced many times in the press, the manufacturer will meet its deadlines.

“The schedule will be respected” confirms Thomas Ulbrich, member of the Management Board of the Volkswagen brand in charge of electro-mobility. “As expected, the ID.3 will be launched on the market during the summer,” he said.
