The new Chevrolet Corvette will arrive in Europe in 2021

The eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette changed its concept when it became a supersport with an engine in the middle. Finally, we know when it will arrive in Europe.

Today, the Chevrolet Corvette is already a legend in the automotive world. Nevertheless, in today’s eighth generation, the authors decided to take a radical step, when they turned the former sports car with an engine in front into a full-fledged supersport with an engine in the middle. The change of concept succeeded, there is a huge interest in the new Corvette in the domestic American market. And that such that it was not known for a long time when and whether the Corvette C8 would arrive on the European market at all. Especially when supplies have shifted in the US as well.

But now we finally know when Chevrolet has confirmed that it will launch the new Corvette C8 in Europe in 2021 and the second half, respectively. This means that we will not see the car on the old continent until more than two years after its premiere, which took place in July 2019.

At the same time, Chevrolet confirmed that in Europe, the Corvette C8 will be introduced in both body variants at the same time. The coupe will therefore also be complemented by a convertible variant.

In addition, we can look forward to richer equipment than on the domestic market. All cars imported into Europe will be in the 2LT equipment level as standard, additionally armed with the Z51 performance package.

This means not only the addition of a telemetry system, head-up display, navigation, Bose music system with 14 speakers or heated and ventilated seats, but also more efficient Brembo brakes, electronic self-locking differential, sports exhaust system, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires or aerodynamic package.

In addition, an introductory edition will be available at the start of sales, which will take the equipment even further. It will be distinguished not only by a few design elements emphasizing the design of the new generation Corvette, but also by Magne Ride shock absorbers.

Let us remind you that the new Corvette C8 is powered by an atmospheric small block, an eight-cylinder with a volume of 6.2 liters, which is already unique in this category today. It is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, while thanks to the Z51 package in Europe, it provides a standard output of 369 kW and a torque of 637 Nm

At the moment, we already know the first prices, although unfortunately exclusively for the German market. There, the coupe in the introductory edition will cost 99,000 euros, which is about 2.6 million crowns according to the current exchange rate. The convetible Corvette in the introductory edition will cost 106,000 euros in Germany. This suggests that the Corvette will be a supersport for the mouth of the old continent, as well as in its home USA.
