How adaptive headlights work – are they effective?
How to reduce the risks associated with driving at night or in all other low-light situations? This is undoubtedly the …
Adaptive headlights, or rotating headlights, are an improved version of traditional headlights. Based on the direction of the steering wheel, they follow the trajectory of the car and constantly illuminate the road. By acting “intelligently”, they thus embody additional security at night or when visibility is reduced.
When arriving at a bend, the driver turns the steering wheel. While conventional headlights will illuminate what is still in front of the hood, i.e. the external environment like a ditch, the directional headlights will follow the steering angle of the vehicle and allow you to see earlier the profile of the road.
Despite its considerable safety advantages, directional headlight technology is neither compulsory nor available on all cars. It is often found as an option and only on medium to large models.
