Steering wheel wobbles when braking, what could be the reason?

Does the steering wheel wobble in your car when braking? We explain some possible causes in this article.

Warped or cracked brake discs

The disc brakes on the front axle of the vehicle may have warped, or the material may have cracked due to aging, defects or overheating.

In this case, only a quick change of the brake discs will help you.

Loose wheel bolts

One of the front wheels may have been changed recently, for example after a flat tire. If the appropriate tightening torques were not observed during assembly, the wheel bolts can come loose again.

In this case you should tighten all wheel bolts properly and in accordance with regulations as soon as possible!

Play in the wheel bearings, worn out joints

The vibrations can also come from worn wheel bearings and worn out joints, as well as from a defective steering gear.

Here you should commission a specialist workshop to repair it as soon as possible.
