Shipping complete wheels and tires – tips and tricks

If you want to send complete wheels and tires through a transport service provider, you should pay attention to a few important things.

First you need a suitable box. It shouldn’t be much bigger than the tires. Sending multiple tires in one package is often more expensive than shipping individually.

If you only ship tires, you must protect them with filler material. This is not absolutely necessary for complete wheels, but it is helpful for the stability of the package.

Newsprint is suitable for filling out. The paper can fill any gaps in the package and ensures that the wheels or tires stand securely.

The tire should also be protected directly with cardboard. It should be relatively thick and stable. You can attach the cardboard directly to the tire or wheel using adhesive tape. If you want to be on the safe side, you can reinforce the inner wall of the box with another cardboard.

Finally, stick the shipping label on the top of the package. In the best case, you can ensure that the package is never rotated and that the tire remains securely in the box.
