New Fiat 500e EV pictures leaked before the event

The photos of upcoming Fiat 500e have been leaked. The vehicle was scheduled for exhibit at the Geneva Motor Show, but it was cancelled by the Swiss authorities due to Coronavirus. An Italian media website mistakenly posted a few photos before deleting them.

Fiat is definitely unlucky. To unveil its very first electric car, the manufacturer was counting on the Geneva Motor Show. But the event was canceled by the Swiss authorities in prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic.

The unveiling could only be postponed — until three photos got published by an Italian national daily business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore. The photos reveal Fiat 500e in its final version with its interior. The car can be seen connected to a charging terminal and is a convertible.

The interior seems much more refined and modernized than the gasoline versions of the current 500. A large infotainment screen sits on the dashboard which is covered with a patterned fabric. The newspaper quickly deleted these photos, obviously published in error.

Interior

Fiat, however, has yet to reveal its performance and technical specifications. The new model will be manufactured at the Italian factory in Mirafiori (Turin), and is expected to have a range of more than 200 km under the WLTP rating, with starting price of less than 25,000 euros.

This car should not be more than €15,000. For €25,000, I would rather buy VW ID.3.
