Lamborghini to restart production on May 4, will reveal a new model

Lamborghini is preparing to resume production on May 4, according to the Italian Prime Minister’s decree of April 26, and completed the necessary measures last week. In this phase, the safety of employees returning to the company is a top priority for the company.

During the temporary production freeze, Lamborghini adapted some departments for the production of protective masks and medical face shields for the Sant’ Orsola polyclinic in Bologna out of social responsibility and worked with the SIARE Engineering International Group on co-engineering and the production of ventilators.

The precautionary measures for the resumption of production on May 4 were continuously coordinated and defined within the framework of the jointly composed company and trade union committee for the Covid 19 emergency. Over the past few weeks, the parties have worked out a safety protocol that regulates the conditions for resuming production. All safety measures necessary for the health protection of employees are taken into account and safety training is organized.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, says: “We are ready to go full steam ahead and under strict security measures to protect what is most important to us: the safety of our employees. This setting of priorities made us the first Italian automobile company to stop production on March 13th. It continues to serve as a guide to resuming our activities from the point of view of reason and security, because the fight against Covid-19 has not yet been won. We will keep a close eye on the development of infection numbers and are prepared to adjust our measures at any time based on instructions from the government and the Emilia-Romagna region.”

“We would like to keep our customers and fans dreaming and will present a new vehicle on May 7th as part of a virtual presentation that will round off our model range. Despite everything, we were able to close the first quarter of the year with very positive figures. Based on this, we want to pick up speed again in order to soon be able to play our pioneering role and to continue delivering our vehicles as soon as our dealers worldwide open their doors. ”
