Koen Maes appointed President of Nissan West Europe

Since June 1, 2020, Koen Maes is the new president of Nissan West Europe. Until now, he was Managing Director of Nissan in the Benelux. Koen Maes takes over the functions of Guillaume Boisseau, who is called upon to carry out new missions within Nissan’s partner of the Alliance.

Koen Maes will continue the work initiated by the previous management. He will thus take care in particular of continuing the structuring of the activity, improving the quality of sales, accelerating the professionalization of the network’s after-sales activity, or even the deployment of the new Nissan Intelligent Choice. So many missions that aim to perpetuate the activity of concessionaire partners.


Koen Maes will also work to develop the Nissan City Hub, a concept store based in Vélizy and which integrates a digital ecosystem to offer an unprecedented and unique immersive customer experience in the world.

After the recent launch of the new Nissan JUKE, Koen Maes will also be responsible for rolling out the new Nissan product plan based on the pillars of the brand and in particular the range of Crossovers and electric vehicles.

Who is Koen Maes?

Koen Maes joined Nissan in 2006 as General Manager of Network Development for Nissan in Europe. Koen Maes then served as Country Director of Nissan Belgium, before becoming Vice President of Nissan Europe, in charge of network development and quality. Finally, he held the position of Vice-President Strategy and Business development, before becoming Managing Director of Nissan for the Benelux.

Koen Maes, a Belgian national, is now 55 years old. Passionate about sports, Koen Maes is a diligent practitioner and consumer of sports of all kinds. He also looks forward to exercising his responsibilities every year while living one of his passions – football – up close, through Nissan’s partnership with the Champion’s League. On a daily basis, Koen Maes drives a Nissan LEAF. The best-selling electric vehicle in the world is for him the ideal compromise between driving pleasure, reliability, economy and fuel efficiency.
