The navigation system has several unique settings that you may find helpful.

Automatically display current position

Let’s say you’ve changed the view on your navigation screen. The system can be set to automatically display your current position on the map after a short period of time. To activate this, press the SETUP button on the dash, now go to the touchscreen and select Navigation. On the Display settings screen, simply check or uncheck Auto Re-center Map to turn this feature on or off.

Traffic Information

You can also choose to display traffic information on the navigation map. To do so, press the SETUP button on the dash, select Navigation on the touchscreen, on the Traffic settings screen, simply check or uncheck Show Traffic Information to turn this feature on or off.

Traffic-based Rerouting

On the same screen, you’ll notice a featured called Traffic-based Rerouting. This feature can allow the navigation system to reroute you based on traffic conditions. You can select one of three options for this feature:

On: Automatic Rerouting will allow the navigation system to automatically change to a faster route when it’s providing guidance.
On: User-approved Rerouting will display a window with faster route options. You can then select one of those routes if you so choose.
Off will prevent the system from suggesting new routes or automatically rerouting you as based on traffic information.

Canceling Route

To cancel any route, press and hold the Pause Route button on the touchscreen. A confirmation message will pop up.

Auto return to map display

One more feature you may find useful is the Return to Map feature. This lets you set the system to automatically display the map screen after a specific period of time if you’ve switched to the radio or media mode screen.

This feature only will work while the system is providing active navigation. To customize the Return to Map feature, press the SETUP button the dash, then, on the touchscreen, select Advanced. On the Return to Map Set Time tab, you can choose to turn the feature off or set to return to the map after five, 10, or 20 seconds.
