How to use Crawl Control on Toyota Land Cruiser

Crawl Control is like a off road Cruise Control system for really rough terrain. The system applies the throttle and brakes to maintain a set speed.

Off road Turn Assist, is an additional feature that helps the driver perform a tight turn, by applying brake pressure to one of the rear wheels.


Crawl Control

  1. To use Crawl Control make sure you’re in four wheel drive, low range. And the transmission is in drive or reverse.
  2. Press the Crawl Control on off switch on the center console.
  3. Rotate the Crawl Control knob on the center console to the desired speed.
  4. Your Crawl Control settings will appear on the multi-information display.
  5. The Crawl Control indicator will come on and the slip indicator light will flash to let you know that the system is working.
  6. Turn the dial clockwise to increase your speed. And counter clockwise to decrease speed.
  7. Lower speeds are typically used for traversing rocks, moguls, gravel all downhill. Higher speeds can be used for snow, mud, gravel, and sand up hill.

Turn Assist

  1. To use off road Turn Assist make sure you’re in four wheel drive low range. The transmission is in drive and Crawl Control is on.
  2. Press the off road Turn Assist button on the center console. The Turn Assist icon will flash.
  3. Turn the steering wheel in the desired direction and maintain your grip. Do not apply pressure to the accelerator or brake petals.
  4. The system will remain active as long as the speed stays below six miles per hour.
