How to open trunk with your foot on BMW 7-Series

The trunk can be opened on your BMW by pressing the trunk button on the key fob for two seconds, or by kicking your foot under the rear bumper.

The smart opener range is located under the bumper between the tailpipes. With the key fob on your person, simply wave your foot under the rear bumper. The hazard lights will flash four times and then the trunk lid will open.

To close the trunk from outside the vehicle, you can press the trunk close button on the trunk lid or use the smart closer by kicking your foot under the bumper.

Note: For safety reasons, you cannot close the trunk using the key fob.

Open or close trunk from inside the vehicle

To open the trunk from inside the vehicle, press trunk open button located on the driver’s door. To close the trunk, pull and hold until the trunk is fully closed. If you release the button before the trunk is fully closed, the motion will stop.

I have a 2021 BMW 750i with run flats. Can the trunk floor be lifted? In earlier models, while no spare, you could lift the floor for add’l storage, but now the trunk floor seems secure and can not be opened Thanks
