When your hands are full, the hands-free easy open liftgate feature on Volkswagen Tiguan allows you to open the liftgate with just a wave of your foot.
Before the easy open feature will operate, the key must be within range of the liftgate: in your hand, pocket or purse.
- With the ignition off, stand about two feet behind the middle of the rear bumper.
- Quickly move your foot and shin under the middle portion of the rear bumper in a kicking motion – you don’t have to make contact with your vehicle.
- The high mounted brake light and turn signals flash once to let you know that the liftgate is opening.
- After you’ve finished loading your cargo, you can close the liftgate by pressing the button on the edge of the liftgate door.
