One of the main arguments in favor of buying a Ford F-150 has always been its usability. This is also the main reason why Ford has thought about how the truck can make everyday life even easier. The new center console is a result of these considerations and can now be used as a flat work surface. To do this, the gearshift lever can be folded down and the center console can be converted into a table. This creates a practical work surface for signing important documents, putting down the laptop or a snack in between.

To open the work surface, first stow the console shifter by pressing its button to the left-hand side of the shifter.

The stow function allows the shifter to lay flat in the console, enabling the use of the working surface tray.

Note: Do not store objects in the selector lever stow bin, and be sure that the bottom selector lever tray mat is flat inside the selector lever stow bin. If there are objects in the stow bin while stowing the selector lever, the selector lever could come back to the upright park (P) position.

Next, press the release button on top of the arm-rest.

Then pull up and unfold the work surface flat on the center console.

You cannot drive your vehicle when work surface is in open position. Return the work surface to the home position before driving.

Which F-150 models have work surface?

Interior Work Surface is an optional feature available on all trims XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited for a price of about $165.
