How to enable or disable Auto Locks on Honda CR-V

The auto door locking and unlocking function on Honda CR-V helps add convenience to your driving experience.

Note: This method is specifically for the latest fifth generation of Honda CR-V, assembled from 2017, but it might also work in older models.


Auto Door Lock Settings

  1. Put the vehicle in Park and turn on the ignition.
  2. Press the HOME button on the multimedia center display.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Then touch Vehicle.
  5. Next scroll down and touch Door/Window Setup.
  6. On the next screen, touch Auto Door Lock, which will present you with three choices:
    With Vehicle Speed: The door auto lock when you reach 10 miles per hour.
    Shift from P: The doors lock when you shift the vehicle out of Park.
    Off: Selecting this option will disable the auto locks.
  7. Touch your choice to select it. On the confirmation pop-up, select Yes.

Auto Door Unlock Settings

  1. Put the vehicle in Park and turn on the ignition.
  2. Press the HOME button on the multimedia center display.
  3. Go to Settings.
  4. Then touch Vehicle.
  5. Next scroll down and touch Door/Window Setup.
  6. On the next screen, touch Auto Door Unlock, which will present you with four choices:
    All Doors When Driver’s Door Opens: Selecting this option unlocks all the doors when driver’s door open.
    All Doors When Shifted To Park: Selecting this option unlocks all the doors when you shift your vehicle to Park.
    All Doors When Ignition Switched Off: Selecting this option unlocks all the doors when you switch off the ignition.
    Off: Selecting this option disables the auto door unlocking feature.
  7. Make your choice by touching it, then select Yes on the pop-up to confirm.

What if Auto Door Unlock is missing? I have a CR-V Executive Hybrid from 2020.
