How to connect Wifi Hotspot on Ford F-150

You may be interested to know that if your vehicle is equipped with the available FordPass Connect feature, you may also have wifi capability.

First, in order to use the wifi hotspot feature, you must activate a data plan via AT&T.


Turning on Wi-Fi Hotspot

  1. To start using, from the home screen, go to Settings.
  2. Swipe left and touch the Wi-Fi & Hotspot tile.
  3. Next, choose Vehicle Hotspot, and be sure Wi-Fi Hotspot is turned on.

Change SSID or Password

  1. Under Vehicle Hotspot menu, select Settings.
  2. Then, if you wish to set a personal password, touch Edit, then Change Password, and input your password.
  3. Then hit Done.
  4. You can choose to have your password hidden by touching the Hide Password button. Touch it again to make it viewable.
  5. Touch Change SSID Name under settings to change the SSID broadcast name.

View data usage

  1. To view your data usage, just touch the Data Usage tile Vehicle Hotspot menu.
  2. You’ll get a pop up informing you to authorize your vehicle via the FordPass app.
  3. If you’re a first time user, it will direct you to use the FordPass app, or go to att.com/ford to make changes to your account or purchase data.
  4. Once authorized, you can view data plan information from this screen.

Connect to hotspot

  1. To connect to a hotspot, go to settings on your smartphone, wifi devices, then refer to the vehicle hotspot setting screen to find a password.
  2. Then, input your password and it will automatically connect.
  3. When you connect with a wifi hotspot-equipped FordPass Connect and available AT&T wifi-provided service, your vehicle can be turned into a convenient wifi hotspot for quick, seamless video streaming, internet radio enjoyment, web browsing, and more.
  4. Plus, it can be linked to up to 10 devices, so everyone can surf and stream content freely wherever you go.

First time activation wifi hotspot service is complimentary for U.S. and Canada customers for the first three months, or three gigabytes of use. Additional data can be purchased through AT&T.
