How to connect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on Hyundai Nexo

With Apple Carplay or Android Auto, you can use your iPhone or Android phone’s functions while driving in the car, such as making calls, sending messages or playing music from your iTunes library or Google Play Music. All you have to do is install Apple CarPlay or Android Auto on your smartphone.

The Nexo is ready for all your devices. It features three USB ports, but only one of them is designed for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The USB data port is located underneath the cover just below the controller for the driver information system.

If you’re using an Android device, be sure to download the Android Auto app. If you’re an Apple user, you’re all set.

Just plug your device in and you’re ready to access its features. Accept all terms and conditions or confirmation messages if presented with any.

You can operate all apps either by touchscreen or by voice command, so that you experience as little distraction as possible while driving. For example, you can have Siri navigate you to your destination smartly and safely. If you have an iPhone and a car model that supports Apple Carplay, all you have to do is set up the app.

Activating Siri

Since the Apple voice assistant Siri takes over key functions of Carplay, it must be activated on your iPhone. If you’ve turned Siri off, you can turn it back on under Settings> General> Siri. Then navigate again in the settings to “General> Carplay” to activate the function.
