The power liftgate on your Volkswagen Tiguan can be set to close automatically as you move away from it.
Note: the auto close or easy close feature is only offered in Volkswagen vehicles equipped with power liftgate.
To activate the auto close feature, with the liftgate open, press the right-hand button on the edge of the liftgate. The LED indicator light on the button will blink and a chime will sound.
Now simply move away from the vehicle. Once the remote key is outside of the keyless access sensor range, approximately three feet, the chime will stop and the trunk lid will close automatically – allowing you to unload and carry bulky items without stopping to close the trunk.
