Honda puts Android Auto on motorbikes

Honda said it was the first motorcycle manufacturer to offer Apple CarPlay back in 2017, now they will offer Android Auto as well.

Honda announced that Android Auto is now available for current Gold Wing models. This enables smartphones to seamlessly access applications and services such as music, phone and news. The updated software required for this will be available from June 2020.

Since the GOLDWING GL1000 was launched in North America in 1975, Honda has been innovating its flagship model for four decades. In October 2017, the new Gold Wing was the first motorcycle in the world to be equipped with Apple CarPlay®. The availability of navigation functions, apps and services contributes significantly to the driving experience and was very positively received by customers.

Android Auto is an easy-to-use and secure way to connect your phone to your motorcycle. A user-friendly interface and voice commands have been designed to distract the driver from the road as little as possible. Android Auto provides easy access to music favorites, media and news apps on the bike. With the Android Auto Google Assistant, the driver stays focused, connected and entertained – while he can concentrate on the road and driving. Voice control makes it easier to use in everyday life.

With the integration of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ in upcoming models, Honda would like to offer its motorcycle customers worldwide more comfort and convenience.
