Germany wants a charging station for electric vehicles at every gas station in the country

Germany wants to encourage these citizens to switch to electric. In order to promote this green engine, the Merkel government wants each service station in the country to be equipped with at least one charging station. The stated objective is to install one million charging stations in the Outer Rhine by 2030.

As the world gradually declines, many states around the world are at the point of the post-pandemic balance sheet. Certain sectors were hit hard by these long months of inactivity. This is for example the case of the automotive industry. France has also recently presented its recovery plan which includes the production of one million electric cars per year by 2025 and the installation of 100,000 electric terminals by 2021.

In addition, President Macron has unveiled new purchase aids, with an ecological bonus rising to €7,000. The conversion bonus envelope also increased, reaching €6,000 for an electric car and €3,000 for a hybrid. In Germany, the Merkel government has just announced this Friday, June 5, 2020 a flagship measure of its recovery plan for the automobile.

In fact, the Merkel government wants all petrol stations in the country (nearly 15,000) to be equipped in the medium term with at least one charging station for electric vehicles. This measure is part of a massive stimulus package of 130 billion euros to restore the German economy. 120 billion euros are spent by the federal government.

One million charging stations by 2030

In addition, Angela Merkel also announced that she wants to reach the million charging stations installed by 2030. The country currently has 27,730 according to data from the German trade organization for the energy and water industry.

Among the other measures of this vast plan, one will note the temporary fall of the VAT , a assumption of the debt of the communes by the Federal State or an allowance of €300 per child for the German families. Companies are not forgotten and will also benefit from new aid. Since the introduction of containment and the start of the pandemic, Germany has posted a constantly rising unemployment rate, at 6.3% in May 2020. More than 11 million workers have been placed on short-time working since March 2020.
