Formentor, the first Cupra model is an SUV

The sports subsidiary of Seat is finally entering the market with its own model: the Formentor, a coupe SUV.

Until now, all Cupra were reworked Seat, like the Ateca and Leon. This will change this summer, when the Seat subsidiary will launch its first model, the Formentor. The latter is a compact coupe SUV with a very dynamic line. Derived from the Ateca, it is however 137 millimeters longer and much lower!

As a sports model, the Formentor is of course only available with powerful engines, currently two in number. The first is “classic”: it is the 2.0 TSI of 310 hp, 400 Nm and associated with the four-wheel drive.

Like Skoda with its Octavia RS, the Cupra is also offered with a plug-in hybrid version. It combines a 1.4 TSI with an electric motor, for a combined power of 245 hp. The 13 kWh battery should help keep CO2 emissions low, which makes it an attractive for those who desire eco-friendly cars.
