Ford F-150 can be equipped with auto wipers feature that automatically turns on the windshield wipers whenever the on-board sensor senses rain. Lets see how we can enable or disable this feature.

In the fourteenth generation of Ford F-150, auto wipers can be quickly enabled or disabled via the SYNC 4 infotainment system.
- Press Settings on the touchscreen.
- Select Vehicle Settings.
- Select Wipers.
- Switch Rain Sensing on or off.

When you switch the feature off, the wipers do not operate based on the rain sensor. When you switch on the windshield wipers to the intermittent wipe position with the feature off, the wipers use the wipe speed set by the rotary control.
Adjusting the Sensitivity of the Rain Sensor
To increase the rain sensing sensitivity, rotate the end of the stalk on the left side of the steering wheel in counter-clockwise direction. To decrease the sensitivity, rotate the same rotary control in clockwise direction.

When you select low sensitivity, the wipers operate when the sensor detects a large amount of water on the windshield.
When you select high sensitivity, the wipers operate when the sensor detects a small amount of water on the windshield.
Note: Make sure you switch the windshield wipers off before entering a car wash.
Note: Keep the outside of the windshield clean. The rain sensor is very sensitive and the wipers may operate if dirt, mist or insects hit the windshield. In cold weather, remove ice and snow from the windscreen before you switch on the windscreen wiper (risk of overheating of the wiper motor). Also make sure that no objects interfere with the movement of the wiper arm.
Tip: You can spray windshield washer fluid by pressing the button at the end of the stalk.
