BMW X7 a big success, beats Range Rover, Lincoln Navigator and Audi Q8 in its first year

It hasn’t been even a full year of production for BMW X7 and its ranking among top best selling luxury full-size SUVs in America. The production commenced in March of 2019 and by the end of the year, in just 10 months, 21,574 vehicles rolled off the showroom floors beating majority of the competition in its class.

The vehicle was first put on display at Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017 as a concept and its production version was later unveiled in October 2018. Its starting price is $73,900 and is assembled in three distinct variants namely xDrive40i which comes equipped with 3.0L Turbo inline 6-cylinder engine, xDrive50i and the preeminent M50i model boasting 4.4L Turbo V8 with a base price of $92,600.

As you can see in the annual sales comparison chart, X7 has leapt above Ranger Rover and Lincoln Navigator effortlessly in 2019. Although, Audi Q8 is not exactly in the same subclass as its a mid-size SUV, but still its recent launch makes it a good comparison, the equally sized rival Q9 is scheduled for release by the end of 2020.
